![]() If you back down the stairs to the boss room The Pursuer will appear. Up the stairs you will encounter a bonfire. Proceed through the iron gate exit that is now open. Pyromancy will be near useless here, so make sure you bring Miracles, Soul Arrows, or lightning enchanted weapons to help you cut through his heavy armor. The only real threat that will then remain is his large, sweeping swings of his sword.Ĭasters and archers will have to treat this fight the same way melee characters do, due to the limited size of the arena, and the fact the Smelter Demon will always want to close any gap you create. Also, many of his attacks can be dodged simply by side stepping constantly. The boss' attacks hit hard, doubly so once they are fire enchanted, but he is often left with downtime after each one, giving you great opportunities to strike him. This can be offset with the additional fire defense from your gear, and a ring of restoration. With that being said, he does proximity damage, meaning you will slowly burn just for being near him. The best way to avoid the fire, is to never get hit by his attacks. Go in wearing your highest fire resistant gear, but only if that gear is light. The boss has a very high physical defense, and once he powers up, it seems impossible to deal meaningful damage. When first approaching this fight, it might seem impossible. The fog gate will lead you to the Smelter Demon boss fight. Carefuly run and jump onto that platform to find a corpse hanging off the each, holding the Dull Ember. Running towards the chest where the Zweihlander is located, to the right you will see a platform and a small staircase. The Dull Ember can be found near the first Fog Gate afer taking care of the multiple Knights and Archers. In this area you can find the Dull Ember which is used in smithing to infuse weapons and shields with elemental powers by giving it to the blacksmith McDuff in Lost Bastille. Head back to the fog gate and If you're a melee-focused hero I'd recommend summoning another player because this boss is pretty tough on your first try. After grabing the goodies you can see a small wodden ledge with an item on it, if your brave enough to make the jump there is also a ladder inside the room which leads to a Pharros Door which when actiavated fills a small area with healing water. Turn around and see a chest at the end of the path Jump across a small gap to get to it. ![]() Now head up the ladder and take out the knight, there is also another knight to the left if you feel like killing him with your ranged attacks.ĭrop back down to the mid-level so that you can get back to the lowered bridge Now cross over it and deal with the Knight infront of the fog gate. Drop down the hole and pickup the item on a corspe at the edge of the platform. Head back up onto the pathway you'll see a ladder at the end of the path. There's going to be a door next to that lever (DON'T OPEN IT!!!) there's scary fire in there that you want nothing to do with. Walk down to the right and be cautious of another knight hiding in the corner guarding a switch that will lower the bridge that you need to cross in order to make it to the boss room. When you're done stick to the path on the left and deal with the knight. If you have ranged attacks I would recommend taking out the archers to the immediate right and across the way of you that way you won't have them bugging you the whole time. Once you have grabed the goodies activate yet another hidden door (The same way the balista is pointing) to be open up a great flaking point for three knights. Once you've defeated him you can claim your Pharros Lockstone off of a body.Īfter you're done with the merchant go back up the stairs where the Pharros Lockstone was turn right and then press A or X (depending on your console) to active a hidden door and a room with a chest and a Balista within it. Before visiting the merchant there will be a staircase to the left with another knight at the top. Ignore them for now and head to the right where there is a hallway that will lead to a merchant. After dealing with those two, there will be another pair right when you enter the castle. Try to lure them out one at a time because they have some decent speed and do some solid damage. ![]() Likewise with the other treasure visable around the flooded lava area.Ĭross the first bridge and you'll be greeted by two steel knights. You can reach this and pick it up, although for now, you will die in the process. There is a treasure corpse holding a Human Effergy visable amongst lava behind the bonfire. You will encounter your first Bonfire of the level. Once you've entered Iron Keep, turn to your left and follow the stairs down. After defeating Baneful Queen Mytha, continue on to Iron keep.
